I began boxing as an eleven-year-old and fought consistently until I turned professional aged 19 years,
I took part in 85 amateur contests. I represented Manchester schools boxing team and also reached the semi-finals of the national schoolboy championships and twice reached the semi-final stage of the National Association of Boys Clubs championships.
Following this, I fought as a professional boxer and boxed and sparred with British Champions and World Champions in South Africa, Spain, Australia and the UK.
